Maps2Mobiles Technical Overview

Maps2Mobiles is a simple to integrate system, providing enormous benefit to your business while being delivered
in an efficient and hassle free manner to your specifications.

Maps2Mobiles has been designed as a Three Tier system for security, reliability and speed of service.

Tier 1: Cell Phone Client

The Cell Phone Client is the application that is downloaded to the mobile phone. This application is customised to your requirements. Anything from simple one way information delivery (such as Truck locations) or complex two way communications (such as for Mobile Technicians to receive reports and provide updates) can be integrated into the client.

The application is downloaded to the Mobile Phone over the internet, either by directly entering the URL into a browser or by clicking on a download link contained in an SMS.

Tier 2: The Communications Server
The brains of the system. The communications server acts as the hub, the bridge between all components of the system, processing requests, handling conflicts and passing the information in a format readable to the other aspects of the system.

The communications server also interacts with the external SMS gateway to send download SMS’.

Tier 3: the Database Servers
The third Tier is the databases, where all the information required to provide the service resides. The User Database is developed by Spectrum Wired to your requirements (User Details required, information to be recorded and tracked, flags/ warnings to be raised), with the Mapping and Geocoding Servers provided as a webservice by either Microsoft Virtual Earth or MapData Sciences Australia.

Your databases are then seamlessly integrated into the system to complete the solution.

Spectrum Wired’s proprietary communications protocols ensure secure, fast and reliable data transmission between the Cell Client and the rest of the system.

Safe & Secure

Maps2Mobiles has been designed from the ground up to be a secure and safe system.

Unique ID’s:
Each application downloaded is provided a Unique ID to protect against fraud. This ID is checked and recorded each time a User connects to the system.

Password Protected:
If a high security system is required the User would be required to enter a Login and Password upon first use, or each time they open the application.

Encrypted:
SSL certificates and HTTPS (web standards used in secure areas such as online banking) can be integrated into the system if required, ensuring no–one is listening in on your information being passed back and forth.
